Today, Nurse Twyla and 3 Iowa Central nursing students came to dissect cow eyes with our class. It was disgusting and awesome! We noticed the lens was hard and felt like a marble. We noticed the iris was bluish-black and it was big. We noticed the jelly-like vitreous body was black and gray oozed out like water. We noticed the optic nerve was cut short but we could feel a little bump. We noticed the sclera, the white part of the eye. All of the students felt the eye and poked their finger inside. What a great day of science!
