Who's reading the blog?

Sometimes I wonder who is reading or using the blog at home.  Kids, go to the Kidblog link below and respond to my question called, "Nice to See You."  Those of you that do will be rewarded!!

Lounging

Sometimes we love a good book so much that we can't put it down!  After lunch each day we try to take a break with a book of each child's choice.  Kids get uninterrupted time to read what they love!

Recycle!

We recycle!  Do you?
Each classroom at SLEM received a BIG HUGE new recycle bin.  We are looking forward to learning more  about the correct items that we recycle.  Kids are always so amazing when it comes to tackling a new job.  They can't wait to fill this bin, and from the looks of it, it may take us a while!

Visions of Valentine's Day

I promise that I asked them to limit their consumption!

A few kids added "warm fuzzies" and it made everyone's day!

We made Valentine bees to share with a special someone....

Happy Valentine's Day!

Please drop your child off in the classroom tonight at 6:15.  The concert begins at 7pm.  Following their singing, the students will return to the classroom with me.  I ask that you pick them up in the classroom at the end of the concert.

Obi-1

I am so excited to share this cool and amazing origami project by Mrs. Smith that was completed during our challenge time.  They have taken a few weeks folding and carefully creating these origami kimonos during our study of China and Japan.
Great idea & good brain stretching!!

Oh, What A Week!

We have had a very busy week, and next week looks the same.  Super achiever lunch was last Monday and kids watched a movie and munched cupcakes for a special treat.  Today was our celebration of Chinese New Year.  Students rotated through my class, Ms. Dewerff's & Mr. Wilson's, doing crafts, origami and a Chinese-themed work-out!  Dragon puppets are coming home tonight.  They were very interested in lion and dragon dances.  There are some links below.  Amazing!  Next week will find us busy too.  Please have your kids start bringing Valentines to school as soon as they complete writing their names.  I suggested that they could write a "warm fuzzy" to their friends on the card also.
