Iowa Assessments begin today for Storm Lake Elementary.  All of our snacks, water and offices are set up and ready to go.  We will take a few minutes prior to testing each day to "chillax" and gather our thoughts.  We want to begin testing with a calm mind, ready to think clearly and make great choices.  My kids are ready to tackle the tests!!

JAZZ!

A long awaited upload of this video!  My reading class took a field trip tp SLHS in October while reading the book Good Night for Ghosts by Mary Pope Osborne.  We loved learning about jazz music & Louis Armstrong.  What a treat to hear our own high school jazz band.  Kids came away inspired to become musicians!

A Day of Service

This morning we remembered Dr. King, listening to his message.  We talked about ways that we can continue his legacy here at SLEM.

Our class wrote fictional stories about our new PWIM poster.  We used new shaken words to help us.  Nhat read his story and it was awesome, amazing and incredible!  We are so proud of his English!  After writing, we drew a quick picture and then shared with a partner.
