Erosion

| Our experiment taught us that we need to make sure that land near our lake has many roots to help hold the soil in place. There will be less run-off to our lake. This would mean less to dredge. Also, our own lawns need to be well planted so there is no run-off to the storm drains. More plants in the soil = less erosion = healthier soil and water! |

Going on an Egg Hunt
During math class, kids each hunted for their class number
on an egg. Inside each egg was a small treat.
In order to enjoy the treat, students had to prove
their money-counting skills by purchasing the egg.
New Rocks & Their Properties
Obsidian-Gneiss-Basalt
New rocks were introduced today! Kids work independently, then as teams to list all the properties to describe their new rocks. We used our sticky notes to keep track of our thinking. Tuesday we are using our new rocks to write a fictional story about the rock, including all the properties! Fun stuff!
